With 2 internal antennas, the Linksys RE1000 wifi repeater is easy to install (about 10 minutes) and it instantly increases your signal strength. Shoppers looking for a product that is priced right will find that this wireless-N range extender with its 1 year limited warranty will be everything the IT consultant ordered. Few people will disagree that a booster which increases your signal strength is not worth paying just under $100 for.
When it comes to improving your signal strength, many people get so frustrated that they are continuously trying out new suggestions. Many of these suggestions are wasted, along with the money they cost you. With the Linksys RE1000 all your frustrations are over and your wifi signal will be increased to a level that will make sure that your browsing experience is a pleasurable one. Getting support for the extender is easy, although you will probably not need it.
Although there is probably no such thing as a perfect product, if you are looking for perfection you will likely find it in the Linksys RE1000. The manufacturer recommends that the user will achieve best performance when the extender is paired up with the wireless-N router, however, it can work with a host of others.
Before setting up your new Linksys RE1000, you might want to consider where to put it. Finding the right location to set up your new extender will not stop the improved signal strength but it could hinder its maximum potential. With your new equipment in place there will be few stumbling blocks to your success, unless you are using an operating system other than windows or mac.
If you are in the habit of experiencing a weak home networking signal and you ever wondered what it would be like to surf the internet without the constant dropping of your connections, then the Linksys RE1000 will serve your purpose. Its extended range and ability to plug straight into an outlet, coupled with an Ethernet bridge that works as a wireless bridge will provide all your networking requirements.

Reviews:
After years of living with dead spots our in household, I finally took the plunge and bought a range extender. I researched for a few months before making my decision and narrowed it down between The SR300 and Linksys’ RE1000. While I was felt that the RE1000 would be great in terms of placement it did not seem to have the same level of reliability as the SR300.
I read multiple reviews stating that the SR300 high power wifi repeater dealt with brick easily, had phenomenal customer service, and that – along with the advertised range – was the closer. If I’m going to pay $70+…I’d like to speak to someone that’s going to do more than recommend that I turn my router on and off!!!
Initially I had some issues setting it up with our Linksys router, however after a quick reset it was fine. The steps are simple and literally only takes about 5-10 mins to set up. Signal is strong and reliable, I have 4-5 bars in a room where I used to have none. The SR300 is able to connect to the router which is a level below and a room away.

It works well and I have hooked several PCs to it using it to create a wired network from my Verizon 4150L 4g hotspot. It is right next to the hot spot and does not seem to be slowing it down compared to when I connect directly to the hotspot. Occasionally it forgets the hotspot password and I have to go through the setup program again. It does this about once per week. |
After reading all the wonderful reviews I decided to purchase the Amped Wireless repeater SR300 to replace my Linksys WRE54G. Wow, I must have gotten a real lemon. This thing will not keep a connection and continuously disconnects from the router despite having a strong signal and drops users left and right. I had high hopes that this thing would be the answer to replacing my old and less than desirable Linksys range extender but not the case. I’ll forge on untill the Linksys croaks and I have no choice but to buy another RE. The linksys is not all that great but it works 10 times better then this piece of junk. ![]()

I had high hopes for this product but it failed to deliver, I get a much better conection with a good usb antenna when comapre to using this product and my built in antenna. I bought this product to replace two netge routers working in repeatermode and the diference in performance is almost un noticible, but the price of the two routers was less than what I pay for this unit. speed droped from 4mbs to 1.5 mbs when coneted trough the unit and it jumps to over 4mbs when coneting directly to the router bypassing this unit using my usb alfa antenna. One las thing the power cable is very short, and the unit does not look very well made.

There are at least 5 ports available for hook up to extend range. What this does is to eliminate dead zones; it extends the routers wireless coverage. This system is universally compatible with most brands of 2.4 GHz wireless routers. The wireless speed is essential for productivity of the electronic systems being used. Prices range from about $80.00 to $200.00. This system can be purchased online and better pricing may be obtained. Some sites that do not offer a price are generally below the manufactures recommended selling price. The consumer must then go into that website for pricing that is usually lower. Many sites are offering special limited sales prices.
There are also refurbished routers available to save money. They are visually inspected, fully tested and cleaned and even though some may have a small amount of scuffs or scratches they have been fully restored to work perfectly well. There is really no difference between a new repeater and refurbished repeater except for the amount of money you can save.
Everyone should be worried about maximum security these days. There are great security features to this device of which include access scheduling whenever the Wi-Fi is on/off. You can adjust the distance of your network and restrict network access to other users. The system will support advanced WI-Fi security with a Wi-Fi set up that is protected.
This will not successfully work with AT&T’s 2701 DSL 2Wire Wireless Modem. If you have a DSL ISP, AT&T this is not a good Repeater to buy.
